What’s the latest forecast for Social Media? Take your pick. David Reinhardt over at thenextweb.com has a few thoughts. Most everything he’s predicting seems quite plausible if not blatantly obvious.

For instance, Reinhardt is not exactly out on limb, when he forecasts that our Twitter usernames, Facebook profiles, etc. will soon be automatically embedded in our various and sundry devices. No more keying in credentials, passwords or logins. All your user info will soon be hardwired into your apps.

Another pretty safe prediction has to do with online sharing: “Media servers and the like will fade into history as our living room TVs, PVRs and hi-fis will be internet enabled and allow us to share likes, links and personal commentary,” says Reinhardt.“Remote controls will include ‘like’ buttons which autopost to your Facebook page. Music players will sync preferences to Facebook and / or Ping.”

Also, Reinhardt predicts we won’t have to bother checking in Foursquare-style for our friends to know where we are. They will be able to track us instantly by the location of our device.

Finally, Reinhardt “wishes” for the very feature that royally backfired on Facebook Beacon––a means to automatically receive ads and info from a pre-approved list of retailers, manufacturers and organizations. Good luck with that.

Convergence is something that is happening everyday in mobile technology and the line between added convenience and added nuisance is hard to draw.
