Ever wonder what in the world people are doing with their mobile devices? Your answer is here, thanks to data gathered by the Opera Mini mobile browser. Folks are spending the majority of their Web time on Social Media.

From Dallas to Jakarta people are Facebooking themselves silly. Facebook is used by more than 7 out of 10 users in the Phillipines and Indonesia. In the Ukraine more than 7 out of 10 vist Vkontakte, Russia’s Facebook wannabe. In 12 out of the top 20 countries Facebook or its Russian comrade is used by over half the users in each country. Facebook is also very popular in Indonesia. It accounts for 69% of all pages viewed. Compare that with only 46% of page views in the U.S.

So what does that tell you if you are a multinational company or a multinational company’s advertising agency? Plenty. For instance, it indicates that branded channels and Facebook ads are a terrific way to keep your brand in front of your global audience. It says that having a Facebook page is something you need to stop putting off.

The numbers don’t lie. 52% of Web pages viewed in Mexico are Facebook views. The number is 67% in Kenya and 57% in Bangladesh. So remember, marketing managers and branding agencies, the world is your oyster and Social Media can proudly display your brand on the proverbial half shell.

We are a Dallas Advertising Agency specializing in Social Media Marketing (SMM).
