Parents in North Texas have a new way to help their infants thrive, thanks to “Growing Little Minds,” an informative campaign from the DFW Hospital Council about newborn intellectual and psychological development.
Agency Creative has been proud to partner with the City of Dallas, Mayor Mike Rawlings and the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council on this important effort.
Infants’ minds absorb everything—so it’s critically important to engage their sense of sight, sound, touch, taste and smell during the crucial first year of life. Growing Little Minds helps moms and dads understand that simple, everyday activities like talking with their baby, playing peek-a-boo and reading stories can stimulate mental and emotional progress.
To create the campaign, we conducted extensive research with brain development specialists, nurses and members of the DFW Hospital Council. Then we tested messages and tone in focus groups with new parents. The campaign’s emphasis on social media grew out of these conversations.
“Moms and dads made it clear that social sites were the best way to get new parents really engaged in learning and sharing their stories,“ said Mark Wyatt, Agency Creative founder and CEO. Integrated social media feeds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram provide helpful tips and let parents connect and compare notes with a growing community.
In addition, a dedicated bilingual website GrowingLittleMinds.com is full of information, advice and videos about newborn care. As part of the marketing effort, we’ve developed postcards, posters, social press kits and giveaway items for new parents.
